Working principle
When starting, the soft starter is connected to the motor circuit, and gradually increases the output voltage by controlling the on-angle of the thyristor, so that the motor current slowly rises from zero, so as to realize the smooth start of the motor and reduce the impact of the starting current on the power grid and the motor itself.
When the motor speed reaches a certain proportion of the rated speed (usually about 80%-90%) or the motor current drops to close to the rated current, the soft starter will send a signal to make the bypass contactor pull, and the motor is directly connected to the power supply, and then the motor current flows through the bypass contactor, and the soft starter exits the operation.
