1.Foot Switch Introduction

A foot switch is a type of control device composed of a top cover, pedal, base, and micro switch. The pedal is pivoted on the base, with the micro switch set within the base, and an automatic reset push rod between the pedal and the micro switch. The push rod aligns with the micro switch button, extending forward to press the button when the pedal is depressed; upon releasing the pedal, the push rod automatically resets, and the button also returns to its original position. This simple structure of the foot switch allows for circuit switching or on/off control by stepping on or releasing the pedal, with sensitive operation.

2.Wiring Method of Foot Switch

A foot switch typically has three wiring terminals, where we only need to connect two live wires to the normally open and common terminals. Introduce the live wire into the common terminal, then lead it out from the normally open terminal to connect to the motor’s live wire terminal. When wiring, safety precautions must be taken, preferably handled by a professional electrician.

3.Characteristics of Foot Switch

The foot switch incorporates a stroke switch, which triggers corresponding actions when the pedal gives a signal. In the welding field, the foot switch can also control the output current. Its features include a surface spray-coated layer that is impact-resistant, wear-resistant, and heat-resistant (up to 180 degrees), a cable outlet design that is waterproof, oil-proof, and shock-resistant, and a built-in micro switch that meets multiple certification standards.

4.Working Principle of Foot Switch

The foot switch is a switch device that controls circuit on/off through the pedal, used in circuits where hands cannot reach. A simple foot switch contains a stroke switch, which executes actions when the pedal gives a signal. In the welding field, the foot switch can also control the output current.

5.Precautions for Foot Switch

• Pay attention to the rated load of the product and choose the appropriate one based on the nature of the load and current value.
• When transporting and moving, be careful to avoid internal wiring short circuits or breaks.
• When used in environments with water, oil, dust, etc., pay attention to the product’s protection level.
• Avoid heavy pressure and impact to prevent product damage. Handle with care when in use.
